VBOX Tools Software: New Release

VBOX Tools version 2.2 has now been released with a host of new updates and features, and is available to download now!

Enhancements include:

• Re-alignment of page tabs and addition of a scroll bar in Report Generator Test Setup, in order to allow the whole setup page to be accessed on Tablet PC screens.
• A new feature called “Dynamic Throttling” has been applied to the live Line graphs. This means that VBOX Tools can detect the incoming serial data com buffer level and automatically change the Line graph window update rate, preventing data loss. Great for laptops, tablets and older computers.

New Firmware available for VBOX3i

Firmware version 1.6 is now available for VBOX 3i. Enhancements include:

• To counteract the loss of a speed signal during periods of total satellite dropout, a VBOX 3i can now seamlessly replace GPS speed with a vehicle speed signal captured from another suitable source (such as a CAN wheel speed signal).
• Addition of a second Time to Collision channel to the VBOX3i ADAS application, in order to conform to a NHTSA forward collision warning system NCAP confirmation test.

VBOX speed sensor est fantastique

French farmer turns to VBOX Speed Sensor to help improve the distribution accuracy of fertiliser on his fields

Experienced cattle rancher, Jean Noël, has installed a VBOX Speed Sensor RLVBSS10 to help guide his tractor while it fertilises the grasslands used to raise his herd.

Jean Noël developed his own software to use alongside the Racelogic system, programming a Windows CE to decode frames NMEA position, while also adding a primary objective feature of calculations to measure distance, speed and the distributed quantity of fertiliser.

“Turnkey farming solutions have existed for a long time but the cost of these was far too high compared to my needs,” said Jean Noël.

“Racelogic’s VBOX Speed Sensor offers a reliable, resistant and precise device capable of calculating distance, speed and distributed quantities using a GPS system with a 10Hz refresh rate – perfect for my needs.”

Jean Noël has said that he is happy to assist anyone with a similar application.

Conduct brake tests...without a brake pedal trigger

If you already have a brake pressure sensor installed and don’t want to use an additional trigger, it is now possible to obtain a trigger signal by simply connecting to the test vehicle brake light system.

Our new brake trigger interface converts the 0 – 12V signal of the vehicle brake light system into a VBOX compatible trigger signal, connecting via LEMO connector to a VBOX.

1,527 miles: it’s a world record

A VBOX Mini has provided The Sunday Times UK National Newspaper with the crucial evidence needed to break a Guinness World Record, as featured in the ‘In Gear’ section of the paper on Sunday.

It was for the longest distance travelled by a production car on a single tank of fuel.

Racelogic staff dedication displayed in ‘Moose Avoidance’ manoeuvre

Last week Technical Director Kevin Bursnall carried out a ‘Moose Avoidance’ manoeuvre on the airstrip near Racelogic.

Filmed with a new Video VBOX Pro and an external camera, the manoeuvre was carried out to demonstrate our new Lane Change Software.
